This year’s 26th Gdynia Sailing Days proved once again that it is the largest and most prestigious sailing festival in Central and Eastern Europe. For three weeks Gdynia ran on the energy of the racing, becoming the capital of world sailing. The waters of the Bay of Gdansk filled with dozens of white and coloured sails, and the seafront promenades with conversations in many languages, the smiles of spectators and the atmosphere of a great sporting occasion that caught everyone who set foot in the regatta village.

The best sailors from Poland and abroad competed, showing masterly skill and no let-up against the elements. Their racing drew seasoned watersports followers and newcomers only just discovering the pull of sailing. Racing on the water
alternated with events on land – concerts, workshops, partner showcases and attractions for the whole family.

Gdynia Sailing Days is not only about sport. It is also where different worlds meet – sailing tradition, maritime culture and modern living. This year the partner zone made it clear how far fashion and sailing run into one another, making something new out of freedom, travel and elegance.
